We now know that our special Charlie bear for the Great British Bear Trail Will be called 'SOVEREIGN' and will be priced at £39.99. As yet we don't have a picture. If you would like to reserve him, so that you can arrive at the signing event on Saturday 30th June at any time between 11am and 3pm and know that SOVEREIGN will be waiting for you, please send us your contact details. - New Out And About Dates For 2012....... Well here we are in 2012! This year marks the 10th anniversary of The Bear Emporium, where did all of those years go? They have been filled with lots of bears, happy times, changes, fairs and outside events, hugs and of course the many new friends and customers that we have met. Without you we wouldn't be celebrating our 10th birthday. This year more Steel City Bears will be added to our collection and Charlotte & William of Charlie Bears will be visiting us (June 30th) as well as Tracy of Sew What And Stuff It, dates still to be arranged. We would like to thank everyone for your continued support and hope you all had a great Christmas and a very Happy New Year. 'Steel City Bears' our very own handmade (at The Bear Emporium by us) bears are being launched at The Great Yorkshire Teddy Bear Fair, at the Hilton Hotel in Sheffield tommorrow. Made from beautiful faux fur fabrics, we have created 4 gorgeous bears whose names have been inspired by our very own city of Sheffield. SHEAF, DON and LOXLEY are named after the rivers which flow into the centre of Sheffield, while HENDERSON is a wonderful relish that has been made in Sheffield for over 100 years. There is also a 1 of 1 handstitched mohair bear for each name. Each bear proudly wears a smart ribbon with a tibetan silver cutlery charm attached and a tag featuring the Sheffield coat of arms. They have had their photos taken today and are very excited about the fair tomorrow. We have a long list of names for bears just waiting to be born all with the Sheffield theme. From the steel industries, sporting and music cultures, to name just a few, Sheffield has so much to offer. A delivery today from Charlie Bears includes from the new Isabelle 2011 Collection, COMET and PRICILLA from the 2010 collection. Patterns, eyes, joints, threads, tools, stuffings, paw pad materials and around 100 different mohair and alpaca fabrics for you to choose from. There are so many different textures, colours and finishes that you will find it hard to choose just one! The Bear Emporium will be open on Friday 29th April from 10am until 4pm, Saturday 9am until 4pm and closed on Bank Holiday Sunday and Monday. Open as usual from Tuesday 3rd May. Enjoy the celebrations!
